Cliff Mastricola
Cliff
founded San Diego Torrey Hills Capital, Inc. in 1998. As founder,
Cliff is responsible for developing our clients’ overall corporate
finance strategies, particularly in relation to raising debt and
equity capital, mergers and acquisitions, valuations,
recapitalizations, and in transitioning private companies to the
public markets.
In his
prior life, Cliff was a Principal of The Boston Group, a
full-service brokerage and investment banking firm providing
institutional and retail sales and trading services, equity
research, and asset management for select clientele. At The Boston
Group, Cliff advised public and private companies throughout North
America, completing capital-raising transactions totaling more than
$500 million. Cliff has also held senior management positions at
Fector, Detwiler & Company and Van Kasper and Company, both of which
are regional investment banking firms. In addition to business,
Cliff is involved with several charitable organizations.
Thom Calandra
Joining Torrey Hills Capital in May of 2011, Thom will liaison with senior management to develop comprehensive evaluations and analysis of client companies as well as coordinate and attend property site visits. Thom will also be active on the front of identifying promising, early-stage companies, primarily in the natural resource sectors of gold, silver, platinum metals, copper, molybdenum and diamonds.
Thom has become an industry leader in natural resources, evaluating companies first-hand on extensive property tours and then connecting those companies with a network of investors. Since 2008, Thom has worked at Stockhouse, a Canada-based financial media company. At Stockhouse, Thom developed and co-founded Stockhouse’s Ticker Trax, a subscription-based report that evaluates what appear to be undervalued companies in the natural resource sector. Prior to Stockhouse, Thom wrote and researched The Calandra Report, an investment report for individuals and institutional investors. Thom also created and managed the largest free, real-time news service for individual investors, CBS MarketWatch, which is now known as Dow Jones MarketWatch. He also has written, edited and broadcast for The San Francisco Examiner & Chronicle, Canada’s Stockhouse, London’s Financial Times, Bloomberg, USA Today and others.
James E. Macdonald
Jim joined
San Diego Torrey Hills Capital, Inc. in 2003. Jim represents and
advises senior management, shareholders, and boards of directors
with regard to corporate development and strategic planning, with a
focus on maximizing shareholder value.
Prior to
joining Torrey Hills Capital, Jim was a Senior Financial Analyst
with Baldwin & Clarke Corporate Finance, Inc., an investment banking
and corporate financial advisory firm located in Boston,
Massachusetts. At Baldwin & Clarke, Jim was responsible for
performing financial analysis and market research to evaluate
investment and merger and acquisition opportunities. Jim’s
transactional experience is made up of companies in a variety of
industries, including high technology, risk management, and
foodservice distribution.
Jim holds
a BS in English from Dartmouth College and a Masters of Business
Administration from the Carroll Graduate School of Management at
Boston College.
Clayton Chase
Clayton
joined San Diego Torrey Hills Capital, Inc. in 2002. Clayton's
primary duties at Torrey Hills Capital include working with public
company clients to maximize their awareness in the marketplace with
both retail and professional investors. Prior to joining Torrey
Hills Capital Clayton worked directly for, and advised small cap
public companies on investor awareness campaigns and coordinated
interface with brokers, analysts and buyside managers. After five
years working in the aerospace industry as a liaison engineer,
Clayton transitioned into the financial industry working as a
registered representative for a San Diego based brokerage firm,
Royale Securities, and was the west coast consultant for a New York
based hedge fund.
Clayton holds a BS in Engineering from the University of Colorodo, Boulder.
Mark Adams
Mark joined San Diego Torrey Hills Capital, Inc. in 2011. In his role, Mark represents senior management, shareholders, and boards of directors with regard to corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic planning in an effort to maximize shareholder value.
Mark has more than 15 years of experience in technology, including as an investment banker, corporate strategist, and institutional investor. To this end, he was Senior Director Investment Banking at Bank of Montreal where he focused on equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic transactions. He also worked at EMC Corporation as a Director of Corporate Development where he focused on venture investing, strategic planning and mergers and acquisitions. In addition, Mark has nearly 10 years of institutional investor experience in technology with Essex Investment Management, SAC Capital and BAM.
Mark holds a BS in Business Administration and Finance from Providence College and a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
Jeffrey C Salomon, MD
Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Salomon has been a practicing surgeon based in the New Haven area of Connecticut, USA, for more than 25 years. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia after graduating cum laude from the University of Connecticut. After performing his surgical internship at Yale-New Haven Hospital, he went on to complete his General Surgical training at Brown University before returning to Yale to complete his Plastic Surgery training.
He is an active member of multiple regional and national organizations and has published research articles in wound healing and skin cancers along with various reconstructive surgery publications and presentations. He is presently Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery
(Plastic) at Yale University School of Medicine.
Ethan Heck
Ethan joined San Diego Torrey Hills Capital, Inc. in 2010. Ethan is responsible for researching and identifying business development opportunities for Torrey Hills Capital across multiple industry sectors. In addition to his work identifying new business opportunities, Ethan assists in the coordination of institutional “non deal” road show programs. In this role, Ethan helps expand the awareness of Torrey Hills Capital's portfolio companies through in-person presentations with fund managers and analysts in key financial centers.
Prior to joining Torrey Hills Capital, Ethan was a Senior Account Executive at Five Point Capital, a leading provider of equipment leasing solutions to small and medium size businesses. Ethan attended Chico State University.
Mark Rauseo
Mark joined San Diego Torrey Hills Capital, Inc. in 2010. Mark is responsible for researching and identifying business development opportunities for Torrey Hills Capital across multiple industry sectors. In addition to his work identifying new business opportunities, Mark assists in the coordination of institutional “non deal” road show programs. In this role, Mark helps expand the awareness of Torrey Hills Capital's portfolio companies through in-person presentations with fund managers and analysts in key financial centers.
Mark brings to Torrey Hills Capital more than 14 years of experience in the financial services industry, including investment executive positions with firms such as The Boston Group, Lehman Brothers, and Bear Stearns. Mark earned a degree in Finance from Merrimack College. He has held FINRA Series 6, 7, and 63 securities registrations.
